Product Overview

You have been searching for the perfect pickled sausage.

Not too hot. Not too mild. Not too vinegary. Not too soft. Not pretending to be something it is not.

We know. The journey has been long.

Well, friend, welcome home.

Big John’s Pickled Sausage is Red Smith’s best-selling sausage, and after one bite, it is easy to understand why. We are still not exactly sure who Big John is, but we do know this: the man put his name on a mighty fine sausage.

The first thing that hits you is the flavor. Then comes that firm texture. Then the snap.

Yes, the snap.

These sausages have a thin casing that gives you that classic bite people love. They are lightly spicy, full of flavor, and do not have that overpowering vinegar smell or taste that can scare off the faint of heart. As one of our customers put it, “It’s not too hot and it’s not too mild.”

That is the sweet spot.

Big John’s Pickled Sausage is juicy, flavorful, and packed in a bold pickling solution with plenty of personality. Big John apparently likes them juicy, and we are not here to argue with the man.

You did a great job. Thank you. I was pleased to find your business because you carry the products I needed. I have been stopping at the Food Lion stores when I travel to their part of the world and stocking up on the Big John’s Sausages. Now I can re-stock my pantry from the comfort of my home any time the need arises. Even though you probably are not small, minty, round and have a hole in the middle I am going to say you are a life saver.

Hi Guys and Girls, When I was a kid my parents owned a bar and restaurant. I loved to go there and eat the hot picked sausage at the bar. Big John's is excellent.. I really like the pickle sausage. It is really close to what I remember. I did try to drop some hard boiled eggs in the juice and those are really good also. Great seasoning. Thanks for the gallon jar. It may last me a while. It will be eaten.
